The first leg of the Indian T20 League 2022 has been completed with 35 matches already being played in the tournament. As the points table is beginning to shape form, the race to the top four is getting intense. With half of the league stage being over, time is nearing where the smallest of margins will go a long way in deciding the fate of the teams in the tournament.

The teams which will be playing in the playoffs of the 15th edition of the tournament are yet to be revealed. But the venues for the most important competitions have been confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In a recent address to the media, the president of the BCCI, Sourav Ganguly has revealed that Kolkata and Ahmedabad will be the venues for the four apex clashes of the league.

As stated by the Board president Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24 and 26, respectively. While the venue for Qualifier 2 and the Finals will be the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The two matches at Ahmedabad will be played on May 27 and 29 respectively.

“As far as the men’s ITL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league stage finishes on May 22,”- BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly said after the BCCI’s Apex Council Meeting.

BCCI has also decided to allow 100 percent occupancy for the knock-out matches. It comes as a huge revelation as only 50 percent of crowds were allowed for the league matches.

Women’s T20 Challenge
BCCI has also announced the venue and dates for the Women’s T20 Challenge. The three-team tournament will be held from May 24 to May 28 at Lucknow. “The Women’s Challenger series will be held between May 24-28 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium,”- Ganguly said about the Women’s T20 competition.
