Sourav Ganguly to join BJP? Amit Shah to meet BCCI President
As per reports, India’s Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is likely to visit Sourav Ganguly’s home on Friday. For those of you who don’t know, Sourav Ganguly is the president of India’s Cricket Board.
However, his tenure is all set to end by the end of this year. It is learnt that Shah is keen to make Ganguly join the BJP and he might talk about politics upon reaching the latter’s home. It’s not a hidden fact that Trinamool Congress led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has a great hold in in Bengal.
And, looking at Ganguly’s popularity in the state, Shah is keen to make him part of his party. During the 2021 general elections, it was reported that Ganguly might join the politics. But, nothing of that sort materialized. Interestingly, Mamta Banerjee too visited Ganguly’s home last year in July.
“If he (Shah) wants to go, what is the problem? Last time, too, he had visited some homes. Let him go. In fact, someone should tell Sourav to buy rosogolla and doi in excess
“We have rosogolla and doi of very good quality, and we love to welcome our guests with it. I am happy to hear the news.”
If reports are to be believed, Shah looks adamant in making Ganguly a part of the BJP. Ganguly’s tenure of board president is coming to an end and it isn’t likely that he will continue to serve the post ahead.
Sourav Ganguly is regarded as one of the greatest captains India have ever had. He led India in 146 matches. Under his leadership, India won 76 matches and lost 65 games. He boast of a win percentage of 53.90.
In his illustrious career, he scored 7212 runs in 113 Tests at an average of 42.2. He played 311 ODIs, scoring 11363 runs at an average of 41.0. He also played 59 games in the Indian T20 League and scored 1349 at 25.4.
