3 Players Lucknow might release ahead of Indian T20 League 2023

The debutants in the Indian T20 League 2022, Lucknow has had a great season under their leader KL Rahul. They finished third in the points table and marched into the playoffs. But they faltered in the Eliminator against Bangalore and bowed out of the tournament after losing the match.

While most of the members contributed actively to Lucknow’s successful run, here is a list of three players whom Lucknow might release ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023.

1. Manan Vohra: Lucknow roped in Manan Vohra with the hope that he would provide solidity to the middle order if and when his services are required. They also played him in two matches in the tournament. But Vohra failed to leave up to the expectations. The biggest chance for him was in the Eliminator when Lucknow sent him at number three while chasing a huge total of 207 runs. If he could have played momentum-changing knock his future in the franchise could have been ensured. But he got out scoring just 19 runs off 11 balls. The franchise might look to replace him with a better middle-order domestic batter next year.

2. Manish Pandey: Manish Pandey had been a star in the tournament when he was a part of the Kolkata team. But in this season of the Indian T20 League 2022, he has been completely out of touch. He played 6 matches for the team and just scored 88 runs in them. His average in the tournament is 14.67 and his strike was 110.0. Lucknow thus might look to replace Pandey with a more dynamic batter in the middle order.

3. Andrew Tye: Andrew Tye has earned his fame in the T20 circuit for his death-bowling abilities. But in the Indian T20 League 2022, he has failed to live up to the expectations. In the 3 matches that Tye played, he just picked up 2 wickets. His economy rate for the tournament was 9.73 and the average was 53.5. His executions looked way off place. So, moving forward, Lucknow might release him, given Mohsin Khan has been brilliant with the ball for the team this season.
