Former Pakistan All-rounder raises serious questions about Virat Kohli’s attitude
Indian batter Virat Kohli has been facing a tough time in his career as he is unable to score a single ton since 2019 across all the formats for his country. Apart from his batting failures, he was also removed as the captain of the team from the ODI and Test formats while he left the captaincy of the T20 side after their disastrous outing in the last T20 World Cup in 2021.
Now, Pakistan All-rounder Shahid Afridi raised serious questions about his attitude. Speaking on a Pakistan News Channel “Samma TV”, he said that the former India captain is not playing with the same attitude he used to be.

Afridi said that cricket is all about the attitude towards the game. He said: “In cricket, attitude matters the most. That is what I talk about the most. Do you have an attitude towards cricket or not? That Kohli, earlier in his career, wanted to be the No. 1 batsman in the world… is he still playing cricket with the same motivation? That is the big question. He has the class. But does he really even want to be No. 1 again? Or does he think he has achieved everything in life? Now just relax and pass time? It’s all about attitude,”
After having a very average Indian T20 League season with his Bangalore franchise (scored 341 runs in 16 matches), Kohli was given a rest in this ongoing T20I series against South Africa. He was seen spending time with his family on a vacation as this was a much-needed break for him before the England tour.
Speaking about this break in an interview with Star Sports, Kohli added: “It’s not a lot of people who mentioned it (taking a break). There is one person precisely who has mentioned it which is Ravi Bhai and that’s because he has seen from close quarters over the last six-seven years the reality of the situation that I have been in.”
Virat Kohli will be eager to be back in such devastating form for him and his team when they are going to take on England, starting from 1 July 2022.
