‘What a fantastic match’ – Fans roar with joy as India clinch a thrilling win against South Africa in the second T20I

India and South Africa are facing each other in a three-match T20I series. Men in Blue marched on to the second game on Sunday (October 2) with a lead of 1-0 and looked to win the series. South Africa won the toss and elected to field first in the second T20I on Sunday.
KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma got off to a great start in the powerplay as the duo put on 57 runs at the end of six overs. Commenting on the former’s strike rate, he kept dealing with boundaries and maximums. The batter from Karnataka scored at a quicker pace and answered all his critics with his bat.
Keshav Maharaj secured the first wicket for the Proteas in the tenth over when he dismissed Rohit Sharma for 43 runs. The bowler carried on with his form and dismissed KL Rahul for 57 runs in the twelfth over. Once the duo perished, Suryakumar Yadav took charge yet again for India and kept the scoreboard skyrocketing.
The batter from Mumbai reached his fifty off just eighteen balls and steadied India for a huge total. He fell in the penultimate over but India managed to put on a total of 237 on the back of Dinesh Karthik’s final over heroics.
India clinch a thumping win
To comment on South Africa’s chase, Temba Bavuma, the South African skipper, perished in the second over for a duck. In the same over, Arshdeep Singh picked another wicket of Rilee Rossouw, who crumbled for a duck and walked the path of his skipper.
However, Quinton de Kock and David Miller held fort in the middle overs with the hope to clinch a win for the Proteas. The latter found his rhythm halfway through and started finding gaps pretty easily. Despite a valiant century from Miller and half-century from de Kock, India beat South Africa by 16 runs and won the series.
