The second and last Test match between Bangladesh and India is underway at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. For the game, India has made only one change. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been replaced with Jaydev Unadkat, who could be part of the team for the previous game due to visa issues. Meanwhile, the former had performed with both, bat and ball.

Yadav scored 40 runs with the willow and took a fifer with the Red Kookaburra ball on a slow-turning surface. However, the team management decided to drop the left-arm leggie from the playing eleven. Notably, Ravichandran Ashwin had a poor game by his standards as he picked only one wicket in the first Test. Meanwhile, at the toss, India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul said that it was a tough decision to drop Kuldeep.

“We have Jaydev Unadkat come in for Kuldeep Yadav. Hard decision on Kuldeep but we know Ashwin and Axar can find spin, and bring Jaydev in to cover all bases,” Rahul said at the toss.

The fans aren’t happy with the decision and are bashing the Indian team think tank for the decision.

Jaydev Undakat playing his first Test after 2010

On the other hand, Unadkat, who is playing in place of Kuldeep Yadav, is playing his first Test after 2010. The left-arm medium pacer made his Test debut way back in 2010 on India’s tour of South Africa. In that game, he traveled the journey and the then MS Dhoni-led side was beaten by an innings and 25 runs. After this, he was dropped and didn’t play for India in the longest format.

The former India U19 player has played seven ODIs and 10 T20Is and last played for the Men In Blue in 2018. Meanwhile, in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh, he has picked his maiden wicket. He took the last match centurion, Zakir Hasan in the 15th over of the innings. At the time of writing, the home side has scored 53/2 with Ashwin picking the second wicket.
