KL Rahul, Athiya Shetty’s families refutes reports of expensive gifts for wedding

KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty got married on January 23. The couple dated each for a few years before entering the next stage of their relationship. They got married in a farmhouse outside of Mumbai, owned by Athiya’s father and Bollywood superstar, Suniel Shetty. Meanwhile, after the wedding, it was reported that the couple has been gifted some extremely expensive items.

As per media reports, former India skipper Virat Kohli had gifted a Rs 2-crore worth BMW. On the other hand, the reports added that MS Dhoni presented the new couple with a Kawasaki Ninja bike. Apart from this, they were reportedly gifted a luxurious house in Mumbai worth Rs 50 Cr. However, the families of the bride and groom have denied the reports

“All the reports published are absolutely baseless and not true. We request the press fraternity to confirm details with us before publishing such incorrect information in public domain,” the families told Bombay Times.

Meanwhile, the couple won’t be going on a honeymoon as Rahul has already started his training ahead of the Border-Gavaskar next month. In the video uploaded by the right-hander on social media, he has been doing his workout sessions. This has confirmed the reports that the couple won’t be going on a honeymoon. The series will start on February 9. The three-match ODI series will follow after the four Tests.

After the ODI series, the players will get a rest of around 10 days before the start of the cash-rich league on March 31. The couple has planned to host a grand reception in Mumbai during the biggest T20 League for Bollywood celebrities and cricketers. At the moment, the Test series-bound players will report in Nagpur on February 2 ahead of the Test series against Australia. India will have a 5-day camp before the first Test.
