‘Wo to har din BSF se milke jate hai na’ – Fans fume as Pakistan reportedly looking to send security delegation to assess security arrangements for World Cup 2023
As India is set to host the ODI World Cup this year, Pakistan’s participation in the marquee event is in jeopardy. As reports surface from Pakistan, PCB has asked their governments to give a no-objection certificate for Pakistan’s tour to India. Without any confirmation from the government, Pakistan will not be participating in the event.
In order to do so, the Shehbaz Sharif government is set to send a security delegation to analyse the security arrangements at World Cup venues. As per the latest news report, Pakistan will assess the security arrangements, especially in Ahmedabad, before sending their team. The Pakistan government will decide whether to send the delegation after the selection of the new head of the PCB following the Eid holidays. It’s also reported that the delegation will include the foreign and interior ministers of Pakistan.
“The security delegation will go with representation from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and also the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup,” says a source quoted by the Times of India. “Before any tour to India, it is standard practice for the cricket board to seek permission from the government, which normally sends a delegation to India”, he further added.
PCB to share the report with Indian Cricket Board
According to the source quoted in various media platforms, the Pakistan Cricket Board will share the details of the report filed by the security delegation with the Apex Cricket Council and the Indian Cricket Board. “The delegation will interact with the officials there and discuss and inspect with them the security and other arrangements for our players, officials, fans, and media, who will go for the tournament. The PCB will share the report with the Apex Cricket Council and the Indian Cricket Board if the delegation has any concerns,” he said.
It’s worth noting that Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign against Qualifier 1 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 6. It will be followed by Qualifier 2 at the same venue on October 10. Meanwhile, for the high-voltage clash against India, the team will have to head to Ahmedabad. India will take on Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15.

Tbh I would love if they exit in group stage. They have been only doing so much drama, nobody has been this dramatic. There is no WC hype but just random drama over venues and now this

Most likely the Indian security detail would need to pat down the Pakistani players before they get on the field.

I got the topic to laugh over . Are they serious ? They cannot guarantee player safety in their own country and those officials will check ours ..
