Rohit Sharma and his Indian team ended the ODI World Cup 2023 group phase with a huge win over the Netherlands. The Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru hosted the 45th and final game of the group stages match in front of a packed crowd.

Both India and the Netherlands played the same team after Rohit Sharma won the toss and batted first. The Dutch team came into the game after a huge loss to England in their previous encounter in Pune.

For the Indian cricket fans, it was a double bonanza day as Rohit Sharma’s team maintained their 100% record. It was a perfect gift to the nation which was busy celebrating Diwali with fervor.

India registers its ninth win of ODI World Cup 2023 –

Batting first after winning the toss, the Indian Cricket Team posted a massive total of 410/3 from their 50 overs. This was the second-highest team total for India after 413 versus Bermuda in the 2007 ODI World Cup.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill began well by adding exactly 100 runs for the 1st wicket. Both the batters looked in an aggressive mood as they went after the Dutch bowlers. Shubman Gill was out after scoring 51 runs, while Rohit Sharma fell for 61.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored yet another half-century during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. The 35-year-old was out after scoring 51 when he was dismissed by Roelof Van Der Merwe.

KL Rahul scored the fastest-ever century for India in ODI World Cup from just 62 balls. the 31-year-old bettered the record set by his skipper earlier in the tournament when Rohit Sharma scored a century off just 63 balls.

Shreyas Iyer was not out on 128 as he added 208 runs for the 4th wicket with KL Rahul. Both the batters took the full toll of a hapless Netherlands bowling unit to post 410 on the board.

Chasing 411 to win, the Dutch were all out for just 250 runs in the 48th over. Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma got a wicket each in what a dominating performance by the Indian team. The men in blue now travel to Mumbai to take on New Zealand on the 15th of November in the 1st Semi-Finals.
