Sarfaraz Khan scores an aggressive century just after India’s Team selection against England
One more year, one more heartbreak for Sarfaraz Khan. As the India team’s squad for the upcoming England series was declared, the selectors went past Sarafaraz once again. This is not the first time the selectors have ignored him. Sarfaraz has always given a befitting reply to the selectors each time he has been ignored. This time too, he did give the selectors a chance to regret their decision. Amidst disappointment, Sarfaraz has kept himself going.
In the ongoing four-day match between India A and England Lions, Sarfaraz has hit a century in just 89 balls. After Tilak Verma’s wicket, Sarfaraz came in to bat. His aggressive and fearless batting proved his form and intentions toward the game. Keeping oneself motivated while constantly getting ignored is one of the good traits of Sarfaraz Khan. Even the fans are frustrated with the team selection and the ignorance shown by the selectors.
So far, Sarfaraz has scored 3751 runs in 44 first-class matches at an average exceeding 68, including 13 centuries and 11 fifties. Currently, he is in good form and will be hoping for a call-up from the selectors as always. Moreover, Devdatt Padikal has also scored a century along with Sarfaraz.
England bowled out for 246
As the England vs. India test series started, England went on to hit the Indian bowlers from the second over. As the match proceeded, it felt like they were playing Bazball cricket. However, neither Bazball cricket nor their happiness lasted long as they started losing wickets at 55. England lost three wickets back to back and were 60/3.
Fortunately for England, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow made a solid partnership and helped the team build a strong base. Later, captain Ben Stokes came in and took the charge. He scored 70 runs in 88 balls and took the team’s total to 246. India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each and pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took two wickets.
