Watch : Babar Azam fumes over journalist’s biased question
On March 11, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was having an interaction with journalists ahead of the second Test against Australia. Both teams are looking to take a lead in the series after the first game ended in a tame draw. The surface on which the first game was played came under heavy criticism from the fans and former players.
The cricket’s governing body rated the pitch ‘below average’ with PCB chairperson Ramiz Raja also saying that the wicket was not a good advertisement for Test cricket.
Meanwhile, Azam was asked by a journalist what the team will do if the Pat Cummins-led side dominates his team. The skipper lost his cool on the question and said that a journalist should be unbiased
“You can’t just claim that Australians will dominate us. Keep your questions balanced and unbiased.
“Pakistan batters dominated Australians in the first Test. We also scored hundreds, with Abdullah Shafique batting maturely and Imam scoring back-to-back tons. Our senior pro, Azhar Ali, also batted well, and we got a lot of momentum,” said the 27-year-old.

The Lahore-born player further added that Pakistan’s bowlers are high on confidence, adding that the team cannot win every session. “I think you need to look at the opponent as well. All four of their bowlers are high on confidence, and the way our batters dominated them, they also took the run-rate to 4-4.5. You cannot dominate every session. When opposition dominates, you need to absorb pressure and not lose wickets,” Babar further schooled the journalist.
Meanwhile, Australia are batting first in Karachi. The team has scored 109-2 at the time of writing.
