The team had retained Mayank Agarwal ahead of the auction. They made some good purchases in the mega auction. They roped in Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Shahrukh Khan, Liam Livingstone, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa who can destroy bowling attacks with ease. 

2. Quality all-rounders

The team was lacking a sixth bowling option last year even though they had Deepak Hooda. This year, they have bought the likes of Harpreet Brar, Odean Smith, Raj Bawa, and Rishi Dhawan. Not to forget, Liam Livingstone has also worked on his bowling and can chip in with crucial overs. Some of the names such as Brar, Smith, Bawa, and Rishi Dhawan can be effective with both bat and ball.
