The finals of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2022 took place tonight at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The teams contesting for the trophy were SN Women and VL Women.

VL Women won the toss and decided to field first in the match. The SN Women had a brilliant start top their inning as the openers Priya Punia and Deandra Dottin looked to attack from the onset. The duo stitched a partnership of 73 runs in 9.3 overs before Punia (28 of 29) was dismissed by Simran Bahadur. Dottin however continued her onslaught and kept the momentum going for her team. She got an able partner in her skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur. Dottin was dismissed in the 15th over of the innings when the score of the team was 131 runs. She scored 62 runs off 44 balls hitting 1 four and 4 sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur also did not last long after this. She scored 43 runs off 29 balls before being dismissed in the 18th over of the innings.  The pitch got slower with the progress of the innings and batting became tougher. As a result, none of the other batters impressed much. SN Women posted a total of 165 runs in their 20 overs.

VL Women had a good start to their chase. they were going at great Knotts having scored 29 run in the first two overs. This is when the first wicket of the team fell. It was Shafali Verma (15 of 8) who was dismissed in the third over at the score of 29 runs. After this the VL Women lost the plot totally and kept losing wicket at regular intervals. By the end of the 11th over they were 64 runs for 5 wickets down. Laura Wolvaardt (65 of 40) however decided to give a fight. But the equation proved too much for her. Although Simran Bahadur played a brilliant little cameo of  20 off 10 it was also not enough. VL Women ultimately finished with161 runs . They lost the match by 4 runs . SN Women won their third title, the most in the history of the tournament.
