India’s spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin has completed his must-awaited 500 wickets in Test matches. In the ongoing 3rd Test match between India and England, Ashwin has reached the milestone. He took Zak Crawley’s wicket to achieve this milestone. After Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, Ashwin became the second-fastest bowler to tale 500 Test dismissals. Moreover, Ashwin’s smart bowling helped him dismiss Crawley and break England’s opening partnership.

With a massive score of 445 runs on the scoreboard, England batters came in with a positive attitude. Before the match started, England had five penalty runs because of Ravi Ashwin’s pitch invasion. Moreover, Jasprit Bumrah bowled the first ball as a no-ball. Thus, in zero balls, England had scored six runs. After that, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett gave the team a brilliant start. Crawley was dismissed early, but Duckett and Ollie Pope kept the innings going.

Currently, England has scored 182 runs at the loss of only two wickets. The way the batters are batting, it seems like they’ll cross the 445-run mark. So far, only Ashwin has got one wicket. As day 2 is about to end, it will be interesting to see the remaining three days.

Duckett, Rohit, and Jadeja’s century in 3rd Test match

In the ongoing match between India and England, three batters scored centuries: Ben Duckett, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja. Rohit and Jadeja’s century came in at an important time when India needed them the most. Both the batters revived the Indian innings from 33-3 by building a 204-run partnership. Moreover, Rohit scored 135 runs off 196 balls while Jadeja scored 112 runs off 225 balls.

Coming to Ben Duckett’s century, he has been in great form. The way he starts the innings paves the way for the other batters to continue the momentum. In the 3rd Test match, Duckett was playing on 130 runs when day 2 ended. The way he’s batting, seems like he’s aiming for a higher score. As he’ll bat on the third day, England might turn the game in their favour.
