‘Ab Gujarat Titans ka kya hoga’- Fans react as Hardik Pandya is set to return to Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024

The Indian Cricket Board is all set to commence the new season of the biggest cricket league in the world, the IPL 2024 in March of next year. The auction for the tournament will be conducted on 19 December in Dubai. Before the auction for the tournament begins, all the team franchises are open to Inside trading their players and submit their final retention and released player lists. 

As per sources, Gujarat Titans skipper and all-rounder Hardik Pandya is expected to return back to his original team franchise and five-time title winner Mumbai Indians after leading GT in IPL 2022 and 2023. Under the captaincy of Pandya, the Ahmedabad-based team lifted their maiden IPL title in 2022. 

There are multiple reports facing the Internet and MI will pay approximately 15 Crores to GT while others say that the amount is undisclosed. Some reports even claim that Mumbai Indians’ opening batter and wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan will be traded to the Titans. 

“Hardik and MI reached the decision a couple of months before the World Cup. The Titans management and Hardik have had growing differences. It’s up to the two franchises to firm up the modalities and formalize the deal. An announcement will be made only after that,” a close source of the Indian cricket board told Times of India.

Retained players: Rohit Sharma (c), Tim David, Ramandeep Singh, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Tristan Stubbs, Dewald Brevis, Jofra Archer, Jasprit Bumrah, Arjun Tendulkar, Arshad Khan, Kumar Kartikeya, Hrithik Shokeen, Jason Behrendorff, Akash Madhwal.

Purse Remaining: Rs 0.05 crore
