MS Dhoni is widely regarded as one of the finest captains in Indian cricket history. His leadership achievements include guiding India to numerous titles, notably winning the 2011 ODI World Cup, the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2013 Champions Trophy, and two Asia Cup trophies (2010 and 2016). Dhoni’s captaincy prowess extends beyond Team India to the IPL, where he led the Chennai Super Kings to five league titles (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, 2023) and two Champions Trophies (2010, 2014).

At 42 years old, the wicketkeeper-batter recently captained CSK to victory in the IPL 2023, securing the title by defeating Gujarat Titans in the final. It came as no surprise to fans when Ambati Rayudu, Dhoni’s former teammate, highlighted the legendary status of the Indian cricket icon.

β€œI mean see everybody knows that he has brought the best out the best in so many players and across formats, even he has brought out the best in many foreigners that have played for CSK. Think he has it in him. Don’t even know how to express it because he is either blessed or he has cultivated it over so many years of playing the sport. But many times, I wonder why is he doing something which I wouldn’t think is appropriate. But end of the day, results show that he was right and he’s right 99.9 percent of the times, that shows he knows what he is doing and he has done it for such a long time and so successfully that I don’t think anybody in Indian cricket are in a position to question his decisions now because he’s been so successful,” Speaking on TRS Clips.

MS Dhoni recently visited his ancestral home in Uttarakhand

On Wednesday, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, visited his ancestral home in the Lawali village of Almora, Uttarakhand. Accompanied by his wife, Sakshi Dhoni, this visit marked his return to the place after nearly two decades, with his last visit dating back to 2004.

One of the online videos captures Dhoni navigating a narrow hilly lane, surrounded by villagers. In a photograph, the former captain is seen posing with his wife and friend Simant Lohani at a temple. Reports suggest that during the visit, Dhoni performed puja for his ‘kul devi’ and sought blessings from elderly women in his native village.
