‘Ache performance ke baad bhi drop ho jaate ho….’ – Fans criticize Indian Team management as Kuldeep Yadav left out of second Test against Bangladesh
The second and last Test match between Bangladesh and India is underway at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. For the game, India has made only one change. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been replaced with Jaydev Unadkat, who could be part of the team for the previous game due to visa issues. Meanwhile, the former had performed with both, bat and ball.
Yadav scored 40 runs with the willow and took a fifer with the Red Kookaburra ball on a slow-turning surface. However, the team management decided to drop the left-arm leggie from the playing eleven. Notably, Ravichandran Ashwin had a poor game by his standards as he picked only one wicket in the first Test. Meanwhile, at the toss, India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul said that it was a tough decision to drop Kuldeep.
“We have Jaydev Unadkat come in for Kuldeep Yadav. Hard decision on Kuldeep but we know Ashwin and Axar can find spin, and bring Jaydev in to cover all bases,” Rahul said at the toss.
The fans aren’t happy with the decision and are bashing the Indian team think tank for the decision.
This is how Twitter reacted
Very disappointed with the handling of Kuldeep Yadav in the second innings Whoever thought on those lines of using him, leaves a lot to be desired. How will you develop spinners????

Leaving @imkuldeep18 out of the playing 11 after he picked up 8 wickets and won the man of the match award is simply outrageous. Can someone explain the rationale? #INDvBAN #KuldeepYadav

Kuldeep Yadav – the Player of the Match from Chattogram – isn't featuring in the XI. Triple centurion was dropped from the next Test. Taking hard calls isn't easy but not impossible. Performances > Personnel. Kuldeep looked in rhythm & deserved a consistent run

Where is Kuldeep Yadav, dont tell me he is dropped. Pathetic, dusted things is happening in Indian cricket these days. #BANvsIND #KuldeepYadav

Don't know whether to feel sorry for Kuldeep Yadav who misses out after an excellent game or to feel happy for Unadkat who is playing a Test after a decade.

Sunny Gavaskar upset with Kuldeep Yadav being dropped. Calls the decision 'unbelievable' and then says he want to use a far stronger word. #INDvBAN

Player of the match in first Test but no place in second Test. That’s the story of Kuldeep Yadav. #INDvBAN #kuldeepyadav

As is their wont, Kuldeep Yadav has been dropped yet again – this time after being man of the match last Test. Go figure #IndvsBan

Rewarding domestic red ball performances is crucial. Congratulations to Jaydev Unadkat .. But really feel for Kuldeep Yadav. An extra seamer is understandable but to drop someone who’s put in such a strong show on comeback in the previous test.. Phew! #BanvInd

Jaydev Undakat playing his first Test after 2010
On the other hand, Unadkat, who is playing in place of Kuldeep Yadav, is playing his first Test after 2010. The left-arm medium pacer made his Test debut way back in 2010 on India’s tour of South Africa. In that game, he traveled the journey and the then MS Dhoni-led side was beaten by an innings and 25 runs. After this, he was dropped and didn’t play for India in the longest format.
The former India U19 player has played seven ODIs and 10 T20Is and last played for the Men In Blue in 2018. Meanwhile, in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh, he has picked his maiden wicket. He took the last match centurion, Zakir Hasan in the 15th over of the innings. At the time of writing, the home side has scored 53/2 with Ashwin picking the second wicket.
