The Australia cricket team has won their third game of the ODI World Cup 2023 by five wickets against Sri Lanka on October 16 at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Notably, this was the first win for their side, as they suffered a massive defeat against India in their opening game, and South Africa thrashed them in the second clash of the ODI World Cup 2023.

However, former Australia captain Michael Clarke has made some surprising comments ahead of the Australia vs. Sri Lanka clash on October 16. The legendary cricketer states that he has heard skipper Pat Cummins will get dropped from the Sri Lanka match owing to his poor performances and poor captaincy in their first two games of the ODI World Cup 2023.

“I heard last night that Pat Cummins is not going to be selected for this game. If Pat Cummins is going to get dropped and not captain the team, then you guys have selected the wrong captain,” Michael Clarke told Sky Sports Radio’s Big Sports Breakfast in Australia.

So yeah, there’s no pressure on Pat Cummins there: Adam Zampa

Meanwhile, Australia’s star Adam Zampa has launched a scathing and sharp attack on the former Australia’s batman, Michael Clarke. The leg spinner clarified that there is no pressure on Pat Cummins to lose his place as the skipper and player despite their first two losses in the ODI World Cup 2023. In addition, the great spinner reveals that the environment between the team members and staff is all good, and the players are backing each other to make a great comeback in the ongoing big tournament.

“We all back each other 100% in this team, so I don’t really know what’s been said or what people are reading, but the only thing that I saw come on the WhatsApp group was the same 11 as last game. So yeah, there’s no pressure on Pat there. As I said, we’ve got a really good feeling in the group in terms of backing each other, looking after each other. So yeah, I don’t know who said that,” Adam Zampa told reporters after Australia’s win.
