India and Pakistan will go head to head in the Asia Cup 2022 encounter on Sunday (August 28) and the build-up to the match has been tremendous with experts and former cricketers coming up with opinions and suggestions. Recently, Shoaib Akhtar attended an interview with HUM News and had to face a difficult situation when the host came up with one difficult question.

She asked him if he had faced some more incidents like Virender Sehwag’s ‘baap baap hota hai’ controversy and the former denied the same saying that no such incident took place between him and the former Indian cricketer. He even went on to add that he discussed the same with the former Indian opener and revealed that Sehwag denied the same. The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ acknowledged the love from the fans in India and said that the host needed to be a bit respectful as cricketers respect players from other nations too.

“Dekhiye pahli baat to ye ki agar ye baat usne mere mooh pe kahi hoti to wo bachta bilkul na. Mujhe nahi pata usne kab kahan kis waqt kaha, mujhe nahi pata (See, the first thing is that if he had said this on my face, he would not have survived at all. I don’t know when he said where, at what time, I don’t know),” Akhtar said. “Maine Banglaesh me usse puchha bhi ki bhay ye wakayi me statement di hai ki nahi di. Kahta yaar maine nahi di, ssaf mukar gaya (I also asked him in banglesh whether he has really given a statement or not. He replied ‘I did not give’ and he turned back on his statement clearly),” he added further.

The former pace spearhead then went on to advise the host to be respectful and talk what’s good. He was happy to analyze from the cricketing aspect and highlighted on the importance of talking good about both countries. \

“Main hamesh koshish karta hoon ki aisi baat karun jisse dono mulkon me faasle badhe  na baki kam ho (‘I always try to talk in such a way that the difference between the two countries does not increase),” he said.

“let’s come back to cricket, bahut saari achhi baaten hui hain jo hum kar sakte hain” (Let’s back then cricket, a lot of good things have happened that we can talk about),” Akhtar concluded.

India will look to take revenge from Pakistan for their defeat against the latter in the previous 20-20 World Cup encounter. The Men in Green are in stupendous form on the back of stellar performances from their skipper.
