‘Aisa kyun hota hai baar baar’ – Fans kept wondering after Harmanpreet Kaur escapes dismissal as bails lit up didn’t fall
Mumbai skipper Harmanpreet Kaur escaped a dismissal in the game against UP in the ongoing Women’s T20 League 2023. In the 11th over of the team’s innings, she missed a leg stump delivery from Anjali Sarvani. The ball had hit the leg stump and the bails had lit up. However, for some reason, the bails didn’t leave their groove. The wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy and Sarvani were left shocked.
On the other hand, the fans were also shocked to see this. Over the years, there have been many incidents have happened in which the ball has hit the stump but the bails didn’t come off. However, probably for the first time, the bails did light well enough to suggest the fall of a wicket. However, for some unexplained reasons, the Zings didn’t come off.

This rule should be changed. Everything is in favour of the batters.

I like how these copy pasters explain the obvious from a photograph or a video every single time and get millions of likes. Says a lot

Me and Nat Sciver-Brunt were calculating the chase very well: Harmanpreet Kaur
Meanwhile, talking about the game, the UP won the toss and elected to bat first. They amassed 159/6 with skipper Alyssa Healy (58), and Tahlia McGrath (50) scoring fifties. For Mumbai, Saika Ishaque took three wickets for 33 runs. In reply, the Blue Brigade, Mumbai got a good start with Hayley Matthew and Yastika Bhatia putting together 58 runs. After they got out at the same score, the likes of skipper Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt took the team over the line with a stand of 104 runs.
“Very happy with the performance. I can’t be thankful enough, the way we are playing and we are gelling together. This is the best tournament so far. After six overs, the ball started turning in the second innings. I was a little surprised with that. Thanks to Nat, she played really well. I got time to settle in,” Harmanpreet Kaur said in the post match
[On accelerating with Sciver-Brunt] We were calculating very well. That time Sophie and Ismail were bowling well so we were calculating that there are other bowlers we can attack. Tomorrow is another rest day for us and again we are playing so we just need to take rest and think what we did well and how we can improve.”
