‘Anna back to Delhi’- Fans celebrate David Warner’s return to Delhi
David Warner is finally back in the Delhi team after being included in the XI against Lucknow. He missed out on the first two games of the tournament due to Australia’s tour to Pakistan. Notably, Warner made his debut in the Indian T20 League with the Delhi team in 2009 and stayed with them till 2013 before moving to Hyderabad.
With the Hyderabad team, he saw a lot of success as he captained the team to their first-ever title win in 2016. However, he was released from the team ahead of the 2022 season after a mediocre 2021 season. Delhi team then bought him in the 2022 mega auction for 6.25 crores.
In his first game of the season against Lucknow, Warner scored just four runs in 12 balls. The Delhi team will have a lot of expectations from them this season. Meanwhile, Delhi did not have the best finish after an explosive start by Prithvi Shaw. They ended up scoring 149 runs in the first innings, with Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan playing small cameos. This is Delhi’s third game of the season, with them winning one and losing one. They won the match against Mumbai and lost against Gujarat.
Meanwhile, fans were elated to see David Warner back in the Delhi colours.
