The International Cricket Board has announced its nominees for the Player of the Month award for November 2023. The apex board has announced the likes of Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Shami as the contenders for the award. As expected, the performers from the month were mostly from the ODI World Cup 2023. All three nominees had an exceptional month in November as players.

Travis Head played a sensational knock in the semifinal of the tournament against South Africa. In the match, the Australian batter scored 66(47) with the bat and claimed 2/21 in his 5 overs with the ball. In the final, Head scored 137(120) and played a match-winning knock, including a crucial catch of Rohit Sharma against India. In both matches, Head won the Player of the Match award.

Mohammed Shami had a sensational month as a bowler. The star bowler claimed 5/17 against Sri Lanka at the start of the month. Against South Africa, he claimed a couple of wickets. In the semifinal, Shami gave his career-best performance with the ball, as he claimed 7/57 against New Zealand and helped his side to win the match by registering the best spell for an Indian bowler in the format.

Incredible performances from Glenn Maxwell in November 2023

Glenn Maxwell was one of the best finishers in the ODI World Cup 2023. Against Afghanistan, he played a sensational knock and helped Australia to win the match after being reduced to 91/7, having to chase a total of 292 runs. In the process, Maxwell registered the only 200-plus score in a run chase in limited-overs cricket. The knock helped in bringing the mental toughness back in the Australian dugout.

The Star player was useful as a bowler throughout the tournament and was very good as a fielder. In the third T20I of the bilateral series against India, Maxwell scored a hundred in just 47 balls, which helped his side chase down a record 223 against the home side. It was the highest chase from Australia in the history of T20Is. It is interesting to see who would win the award.
