In the first ODI between Bangladesh and India, KL Rahul scored an important 73 runs to take the team to a fighting total. However, him dropping a catch at a crucial juncture made him a villain in the eyes of Indian fans. The right-hander made some amends in the ongoing second ODI as he took a great catch to end a long seventh-wicket partnership between Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraj.

However, he had a chance to carry on with the good form he displayed in the last game. After all, the Men In Blue were reduced to 39/3, chasing 272. However, after scoring 14 off 28 balls, he was trapped lbw by Miraj. With this, once again the fans are bashing him for not delivering at a time of need. The fans have come up with memes and some are calling for his axing from the team.

Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel are providing hope to the team

After the wicket of Rahul, the Rohit Sharma-led side was in absolute shambles. At 65/4, they were looking all but lost. However, the likes o Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel are providing some hope to the team and its fans of remaining alive in the series. Not to forget, India lost the first game by one wicket and is staring down another ODI series defeat against Bangladesh.

Seven years back, the MS Dhoni-led India was the first-ever team to lose an ODI series against Bangladesh. That series saw the rise of Mustafizur Rahman for the Bangladesh Tigers. Meanwhile, in the ongoing game, Iyer and Patel have put together 59 runs in eight overs. Both would look to increase the partnership and take the team over the winning line.
