Asaduddin Owaisi urges India not to play with Pakistan in 20-20 World Cup 2022
Recently, the Asian Cricket Council chairperson and Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah announced India won’t travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. This drew a lot of unhealthy reactions from Pakistan. A lot of former and current cricketers from Asian country criticized the Indian Cricket Board for their ‘unilateral’ decision. In reply, a lot of non-cricketing personalities have dug up the political issues of the past and present between the two nations.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi raised a question about India playing against their arch-rivals on October 23. Apparently, the Asian rivals will lock horns at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 this weekend. The veteran politician has questioned the Men In Blue playing the World Cup game if they are not playing the Asia Cup game.
“Why are you now playing the cricket match with Pakistan tomorrow? Nahi khel na tha. No, we won’t go to Pakistan but will play with them in Australia. What is this love? Don’t play with Pakistan. What will happen if you don’t play with Pakistan? A loss of ₹2000 crore for the television? But is it more than what India matters? Leave, don’t play,” Owaisi said touching upon the issue of India deciding not to send its team to play Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan.
Would love to see Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj crush Pakistan: Asaduddin Owaisi
On the other hand, the Hyderabad MP hopes for the likes of Shami and Siraj to do well against the Green Brigade. Notably, Shami is certain to play in the game while Siraj is in the reserves players’ squad. Also, Shami would like to do well as he was trolled after the last year’s encounter. Apparently, he was called ‘traitor’ as he had a bad game against the Babar Azam-led side in Dubai.
“Now I don’t know who will win the match. But I also want that India wins and that Shami and our children like Mohammed Siraj do their best to crush Pakistan,” Owaisi said.
