AUS vs WI,2nd Test: 3 Streaks Broken After West indies’ victory in Gabba

West Indies defeated Australia at Gabba.

Sports is one of those activities where people give their best no matter what their conditions are. In the second test match between Australia and West Indies, Shamar Joseph bowled in the entire second innings with an injured foot. On day 3, while Joseph was batting, Mitchell Starc bowled a toe-crushing ball after which he had to return to the dressing room and couldn’t return to bat again. With a batter short, West Indies still managed to give the hosts a target of 216 runs.

Even though Steven Smith gave his best and was there on the field till the end, Australia still lost the match by eight runs. No other batter could support him and thus they ended up losing the match at their Fortress, Gabba. Well, this was the first time Australia lost a match at Gabba. In 2021, India won the Test match against Australia at Gabba. This time, when the West Indies won the match against Australia, they broke three streaks.

With Shamar Joseph’s seven wickets, West Indies have won their first match in Australia after 27 long years. It was in 1997 when the visitors had won the match against the hosts. Joseph’s hard work and perseverance were one of the main reasons why West Indies went on to win the match at Gabba. This has to be a memorable match for Joseph and the entire team for the efforts and energy they gave in the match.
