Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been named the ODI player of the year for 2021. While Pakistan didn’t play a lot of ODI cricket last year, Babar did well in the six games they played. He scored 405 runs at an average of 67.50.

Babar played a crucial role in Pakistan’s win in the ODI series against South Africa. The Men in Green in Green went on to beat South Africa 2-1. Babar was on the Player of the Match award in both Pakistan wins. He scored 228 runs in the series.

On Pakistan’s tour of England, Babar was the lone Warrior for the visitors and scored 177 runs in three games. A second-string England team went on to beat Pakistan 3-0.

Babar Azam has emerged as one of the greatest batters of the modern era. In the 81 innings of the 83 games that Babar has played, he has scored 3985 runs at an average of 56.93, including 14 hundreds.
