Ben Stokes gives mind-blowing reply to journalists’ ‘India vs Pakistan final’ question

In the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022, teams such as India, Pakistan, England, and New Zealand have qualified for the semis. However, a lot of fans from Asia are anticipating the India-Pakistan final. Notably, the only time both teams played each other twice in the history of the tournament was in 2007. In the inaugural edition of the tournament, the Asian rivals played each in the first round and the final game of the tournament.

15 years later, the same scenario has been anticipated. Pakistan is slotted to play against New Zealand in the first semifinal on November 9 in Sydney. On the other hand, India will play England in the second semifinal on November 10 in Sydney. Ahead of the second semifinal, England all-rounder Ben Stokes was asked about the prospect of the Indo-Pak final and also about his side playing the spoilsport.

To which, the England all-rounder replied by saying that his side is ‘hoping’ to win the game against India. “Great news for you guys if it’s the India vs Pakistan final. Look, I don’t know, we are just here to hopefully win on Thursday”, he said.

Virat Kohli has the right not to be written off: Ben Stokes

On being asked about Virat Kohli’s form, the 2019 ODI World Cup winner said that the former has earned the right not to be written off. The former India skipper has amassed 246 runs in five games averaging 123 including three fifties.

“He has earned the right to be never be written off. You don’t produce the numbers and innings, he has done in all three formats”, Stokes said.

Kohli has scored three fifties in the ongoing tournament and got out only twice, against South Africa and Zimbabwe. The 33-yar-old would look to carry his form in the knockout game. If he comes good, he might smash all the criticism of not being able to do well in knockout games.
