‘Bhai baatein chodho, final pe concentrate karo’ – Fans react as Virat Kohli heaps praise on Rohit Sharma ahead of WTC final 2023
The World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia will take place at the Oval on June 7, and Virat Kohli is preparing for it. Kohli had a chance to win this competition in 2021, but India lost to New Zealand. Currently, Rohit Sharma is in charge of the team, but Kohli will try to seize the Test mace this time around.
When it comes to their Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons for their respective organizations, Kohli and Rohit had quite different experiences. In 14 games, Kohli scored 639 runs, hitting two centuries and six fifties. While Rohit only managed to score 332 runs in 16 games, including just two fifties. However, the former captain praised Rohit highly before this match, and as supporters listened, they voiced their opinions.
He performed really well in these conditions and got a hundred at the Oval: Virat Kohli
“Rohit…umm, I have always said that he has got more time than anyone on the ball. And that is the special ability he has from day one. When I saw him playing for the very first time, I understood what the hype was all about and why he was rated so highly. And what he has done in White ball cricket for a long period, we all knew but the way he has performed in tests over the last 3-4 years is, you know, a testimony of his temperament towards playing Test cricket and having the belief that he can do it in tests at the highest level,” Kohli was quoted as saying in an interview with the Apex Council of Cricket.
“Opening is not an easy job and he has done a wonderful job, opening for us in the last 3-4 years. So, he really has performed well in all formats of the game for us, in the recent past. He is someone, when you watch him play, enjoy watching him. I have had amazing partnerships with him and thoroughly enjoyed watching him from the other end when he is going great guns. As I said, he performed really well in these conditions and got a hundred at The Oval. Hopefully, he can repeat such a performance again in this final,” the 34-year-old asserted.

Rohit is senior to Kohli in terms of when they burst onto the scene.
I remember Rohit Rahane was termed as the next big thing.

No offence but that was past. Considering the current form, Rohit Sharma doesn’t qualify to play this test (as a batsman). He looks so tired. Needs rest for couple of months.
