Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a hilarious idea to stop David Miller

India failed to start on a winning note in their home T20I series against South Africa. They got beaten by 7 wickets. This loss snatched away the chance of creating a world record of winning 13 T20I matches on a trot from India.

South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller were instrumental in that win as they played brilliant knocks while chasing a huge target of 212 runs. David Miller was given the player of the match award also for his unbeaten knock of 64 runs off 31 balls.

Now, ahead of the second T20I in Cuttack on Sunday (12 June), India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar attended the pre-match press conference on Saturday (11 June) where he was asked about the way to stop Miller from getting such runs. The Indian pacer came up with a hilarious reply, which went viral instantly. The Indian Cricket Board also shared that video on their official Twitter account.

Bowling to him would be a challenge,” – Bhuvneshwar Kumar

This experienced pacer said that he wishes South Africa to drop him. So that, they need not face him or his destructive batting. He said: “It is difficult bowling to Miller. He is in such good form. Main toh chahunga South Africa unhe drop Kar de par wo Aisa karenge nahi (I would want South Africa to drop him but they would not do so. He batted so well in the Indian T20 League, we know his calibre. Bowling to him would be a challenge,)”

Kumar also emphasized that everyone wants to improve in the upcoming fixture. “It was the first match of the series and everybody was coming out of the Indian T20 League, almost everyone in the team had a good Indian T20 League. Everyone knows what needs to be done and things to improve on,” he concluded.

Speaking about the last match, India posted a huge total of 211 runs while batting first, courtesy of Ishan Kishan’s brilliant 76 and Hardik Pandya’s powerful 31* runs off 12 balls only. In reply, Indian bowlers failed to restrict the Proteas as the visitors sealed the deal, thanks to Rassie Van der Duseen’s unbeaten 75 runs and David Miller’s unbeaten 64 runs off 31 balls at a strike rate over 200. Bhubaneshwar Kumar also had a bad outing that day ass got smashed for 43 runs in four overs with a lonely wicket of the Protea captain, Tenda Bavuma.
