Former India opening batter Murali Vijay has blasted Sanjay Manjrekar for not being ‘appreciative for Southern India’ players. The former tagged Manjrekar and the Indian Cricket Board. Apart from this, he used hashtags relating to equality and fair play for all. ‘Some Mumbai ex players can never be appreciative of the south ! #showsomelove #equality #fairplayforall @sanjaymanjrekar,’ Vijay wrote on Twitter.

Currently, it is unclear why the 2013 Champions Trophy winner has raised such an issue. Meanwhile, the fans have stood up for the Tamil Nadu player. Not to forget, cricketer turned commentator Manjrekar has had a scuffle with Ravindra Jadeja in the past. Ahead of the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal, Sanjay called Jadeja ‘the bits and pieces player’. However, the latter scored a fifty and almost took India home
