Blockbuster match from Indian T20 League 2022 becomes the most Tweeted event
The two months-long saga of the Indian T20 League 2022 concluded with Gujarat emerging as the winners of the tournament. Gujarat defeated Rajasthan in the final match in what turned out to be a rather tame affair. But throughout the tournament, the spectators remained witness to a lot of exciting encounters. And they have also often taken to social media to talk about the matches and give their opinions about the proceedings. However, as per the latest reports, it was the 33rd match of the Indian T20 League 2022 between Mumbai and Chennai that was talked about most by the fans on Twitter.
Talking about the match, Chennai won the toss and decided to field first in the match. Mukesh Choudhary bowled a fiery opening spell for the Men in Yellow as he dismissed the top three batters of Mumbai within the third over for just 23 runs. It was Suryakumar Yadav (32 of 21) and Tilak Varma (51 of 43) who rescued the team from the trouble and took them to a respectable total of 155 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.
In the chase, Chennai did not get a good start as Rututraj Gaikwad (0 of 1) was dismissed on the first ball that he faced. Chennai was reeling at 16 for 2 in the third over of the innings when Robin Uthappa (30 of 25) and Ambati Rayudu (40 of 35) steadied the Chennai ship. However, they failed to take Chennai home and after their departure, Chennai began to lose their way. The match ultimately came down to the point where the Men in Yellow needed 17 runs in the last over to win the match.
Dwaine Pretorius was dismissed on the first ball of the over as a single was taken off the next ball by Dwayne Bravo. This meant 16 runs were left to be scored with 4 balls remaining and it was MS Dhoni who was on strike against Jaydev Unadkat. Dhoni hit a six, a couple of boundaries, and a couple to seal the deal for his team. The heroics of Dhoni, made the match the most talked about the incident on Twitter.
