‘Chatna band kar’- Fans react as Yashasvi Jaiswal credits MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for his impressive performances in IPL 2023

One of the future stars of Indian cricket, Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a wonderful IPL 2023 season thus far for Rajasthan Royals. Along with Jos Buttler, he has provided quickfire starts to the team consistently this season and is, currently, the highest run-getter for Rajasthan.

Jaiswal has 304 runs to his name at an average and a strike rate of 38 and 147 respectively. Rajasthan Royals won their last match against CSK by 32 runs and reached the top of the table on Friday. The left-handed batter played a major role behind RR’s win. Despite the likes of Buttler (27 off 21) and Samson (17 off 17) struggling to get going, Yashasvi Jaiswal provided the team a strong start in the power play.

It was not an easy to pitch to bat on but Jaiswal played beautiful and went on to score 77 runs in just 43 balls, a knock which was laced with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Thanks to that knock, Rajasthan Royals notched a huge score of 202 runs on the board. In reply, CSK fell 32 runs short of the target.

Jaiswal has impressed one and all with his performance with the bat this season. Following RR’s win, the Rajasthan batter credited the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for his success. Here’s what he said,

“I was trying to hit the ball but I was aware which side the wind was blowing, but I was also clear in the mind that I have to go and play good cricketing shots. It is not about just this season, I have been putting in the effort with the team management and I keep speaking to senior players like Dhoni sir and Virat bhai.”
