‘Cheap are those who sell their country’ – Fans Slam Mohammed Amir For His ‘Cheap’ Tweet For Selectors

Pakistan is preparing to face England in a seven-match T20I series at home. However, they had a great Asia Cup campaign this year. In the first match, they lost to arch-rivals India. Then, they managed to qualify for the ‘Super Four’. After that, they defeated India and Afghanistan. But, they lost against Sri Lanka.  Meanwhile, that was enough for them to get qualified for this year’s Asia Cup final. But, in the final, Sri Lanka outclassed them. Now, ahead of the 20-20 World Cup, Pakistan will look to do well in this upcoming home T20I series.

But, on 15 September 2022, Pakistan announced their final 15-member squad for the mega event later this year in Australia. In the last edition of the World Cup, Pakistan lost against Australia in the semi-final. Hence, they will look to deliver better performance this time around. Speaking of the team, Babar Azam will lead the team while Shadab Khan will be his deputy.

They also went with the same middle-order batters as the Asia Cup. However, they brought back Shan Masood. In the bowling department, they showed faith in Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, and Usman Qadir. As reserve players, they went with Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris, and Shahnawaz Dahani.

However, they selected Shaheen Afridi who is currently on treatment for his knee injury. Only time will tell if he is definitely going to play in the World Cup or not. But, Mohammed Amir took a dig at Muhammad Wasim, Pakistan’s Chief selector. He said it was a ‘cheap’ selection from the chief selector. Fans did not like it as they started slamming him on social media platforms.
