Ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, India is going to play three ODIs against Zimbabwe. The series is going to happen from 18 August to 22 August 2022. The Indian selectors announced a younger squad for this tour as they gave senior players a rest. Shikhar Dhawan was appointed as the captain for these matches.
However, on 11 August 2022, the Indian Cricket Board announced that KL Rahul will travel with the squad after becoming fit. Even, he will do the captaincy duties for this series. Apart from it, Zimbabwe also named their squad for this series. They are coming off a great T20I and ODI series win over Bangladesh earlier this month. Meanwhile, from the Indian camp, some players can come out as stand-out performers in this upcoming series.

Shubman Gill
In the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill will get the chance of opening the innings once again for India. Hence, India can hope for a better performance from him after his heroics in West Indies. In three ODIs in the Caribbean, he scored 205 runs at an average of 102.50. He was also the player of the series.
Deepak Chahar
This player is set to make a comeback for India after sitting out for a long time due to injury. Deepak Chahar also missed the chance to play for his Chennai franchise in the last edition of the Indian T20 League. Hence, he will look to deliver his best in this series. However, he has been named as a backup for the Indian side in the upcoming Asia Cup.
Kuldeep Yadav
This chinaman spinner can also come out as a top performer for India in this series. He also missed a lot of cricketing action in recent times due to injury. However, he was in the T20I squad in West Indies. Kuldeep Yadav got his only opportunity in the final match of the series. He impressed everyone by picking up three wickets. Meanwhile, he has not been picked up for the Asia Cup. Hence, Kuldeep Yadav can come up with some good performances in this series to prove his worth ahead of the mega-events.
