‘Dar Ka Mahol In Pakistan’ – Fans React As Suryakumar Yadav Reaches Second Spot In T20I Rankings Just Behind Babar Azam

On 2 August 2022, India faced West Indies in the third T20I match of the series. After winning the series opener, India lost the second match. Hence, this match was crucial for both sides as two more matches to go. However, India managed to win the match by seven wickets.
Speaking of the match, India won the toss and asked West Indies to bat first. Kyle Mayers scored 73 runs off 50 balls. They put up a score of 164 runs in 20 overs by losing five wickets. In reply, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav came out to open the innings for India. However, Rohit got retired hurt due to some lower back issues after scoring 11 runs off 5 balls.

Then, Suryakumar batted brilliantly as he score 76 runs off 44 balls at a strike rate of 172.72. During his innings, Yadav smashed eight fours and four sixes. Rishabh Pant also score 33* runs and India managed to chase down the target of 165 runs with one over to spare. Yadav also won the player of the match award for his match-winning knock. But, more good news came for Yadav when the latest Ranking of batters in T20Is came out after the match. After this knock, he jumped up to the second spot with 816 rating points. Currently, he is now only behind Pakistan’s Babar Azam by two points (818 rating points).
Yadav toppled another Pakistan batter, Mohammad Rizwan who has 794 rating points. Now, regarding this new ranking of Suryakumar Yadav, fans came out on Twitter to shower their praise. Meanwhile, some fans also were found to question the Governing Body of Cricket regarding this sudden rise of Yadav in the rankings. Speaking of Yadav’s T20I career, he came up with a match-winning knock against West Indies and score a fantastic ton against England in the third T20I of the series, earlier this month.
