Pakistan Cricket Team, led by Babar Azam is currently preparing for the ‘must-win’ game against arch-rivals India as we speak. A lot of players from the last edition of the 20-20 World Cup are playing in the tournament. Players such as Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Shoaib Malik, etc aren’t part of the team this time around. Meanwhile, ahead of the Indo-Pak clash, a video of Wasim is doing the rounds on the internet.

Talking about the video, Wasim and other former Pakistan players were sitting and had a chat with the anchor. In the video, the anchor took an indirect dig at the Pakistan skipper by saying ‘Babar Azam ki bas shakal masoom hai’. He emphasized on the word ‘Bas’ which means only in this context. Even though Wasim didn’t say anything, his expression suggested that the anchor might be right.

For those who don’t know, Wasim and Azam have had a history between them for the last 15-16 months. During the second leg of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) last year, the left-handed all-rounder always used to complain about the batters not scoring enough runs. Notably, he was leading the Karachi Kings at the time. Coincidentally, Azam and Martin Guptill from New Zealand were the main culprits for the team not scoring runs in the UAE leg.

A few months after this, Azam used to yell at Wasim on a few occasions during the 20-20 World Cup 2021. After the tournament, the 2006 U19 World Cup winner was left out of the team and was replaced by Mohammad Nawaz. A lot of fans, former players, and journalists from Pakistan have claimed that ‘Babar took revenge of PSL 5’ from Wasim. Notably, Nawaz has been doing well for the team as an all-rounder and is currently part of the team for the ongoing showpiece event.

Nawaz has become an important member of the team as he does most of the challenging jobs for the team such as bowling in the powerplay and scoring quick runs in the slog overs.
