‘Dil khush kar deta paaji’ – Fans laud as Prabhsimran Singh scores his maiden century in IPL against Delhi Capitals

In the 59th game of the Indian Premier League 2023, the Delhi Capitals (DC), who had just lost to the Chennai Super Kings, would now play the Punjab Kings (PBKS). This is the first time in this season that these two teams will compete against one another. They will also compete against one another again in Dharamsala over the course of four days.

Delhi had eight points after 11 games before their loss to CSK, almost eliminating them from the contention. Punjab, however, is still competing in the mid-table battle alongside RCB, LSG, MI, and RR. With a run rate of -0.441, they are presently ranked eighth in the points standings after winning five games and losing six. PBKS lost their last two games against Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively, after beating Chennai in a thrilling last-ball match.

Prabhsimran Singh, a batter for Punjab Kings, struck his maiden century in the IPL when his team scored a total of 167/7 against the Capitals. The batter took 65 balls to reach his total of 103, which included 10 fours and 6 sixes. Ishant Sharma, who had statistics of 2/27, was the best bowler for Delhi. In the second inning, he was substituted and star Australia pacer, Nathan Ellis was brought in place of him.

“I thought to take time and pounce on the loose ball to convert. As I started the season, I wanted to make it a good season. The pitch was tough for batting but it was easier for the set batter. Even in domestic cricket, this is how I celebrate. The celebration was saying thanks to the management. On this wicket, playing the pace bowlers was easy and the balls were in my slot. We were thinking about 170 and we got close to it,” Prabhsimran Singh was quoted as saying ain the interview after the completion of first innings.
