After losing the fifth rescheduled Test match against England earlier this week, India played the first T20I match against England on 7 July 2022. Rohit Sharma made a comeback after getting recovered from Covid-19. Big players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah were given rest as the players from the Ireland tour got the chance to play in that match.

Speaking about the match, India came out with a crushing victory over England with a margin of 50 runs. Hardik Pandya was the star of the match as he scored fifty-plus runs with the bat and picked up four wickets with the ball. Now, former England spinner Graeme Swann came up with a cheeky dig at India’s top players as he said that India should send their ‘B’ Team to win the upcoming T20 World cup later this year in Australia.

“India should send their B team to Australia and probably win the World Cup,” – Graeme Swann

Speaking to Sony Sports, Swann said that India should send their ‘B’ team players to win the mega event. He said: “India should send their B team to Australia and probably win the World Cup,”

He also added as big players will make a comeback to the team for the second and third T20Is, it will be beneficial for England as the winning combination will be disturbed. “I think it’s a great idea that you bring a load of players in. You got a winning team and completely change that in the 2nd game against England. I would like you to do that, India, please. Because this XI will beat England in 2 days’ time, even if you bring in world-class players like Bumrah, Kohli, and Pant, it upsets the balance that has played so well. Of course, they will come back into the team because of who they are. But if you are the England team, I would be looking for any way to upset the rhythm,” he added.

Swann also opened up on adding Kohli as an opener in the line-up from the next match. “Virat Kohli comes in, he opens the batting, instead of Kishan. That is what I would do. When Rohit is batting so well at the other end, scoring quickly, Virat will follow and do the same thing. Kohli and Sharma score heavily at the top, Hooda, and SKY (Suryakumar) can follow suit,” Swann concluded.
