‘Done and dusted’ – Fans Shower Congratulations After India Thrash West Indies In The Fifth T20I
On 7 August 2022, India took on West Indies in the last T20I match of the series in Lauderhill, Florida. This match was just a formality for the visitors After wrapping up the T20I series on 6 August 2022. India also made some surprise decisions as the skipper Rohit Sharma took a rest from the match. Hence, Hardik Pandya got the opportunity to lead the team for the match.
Speaking about the match, both teams made four changes each in an effort to give their squad members game time. India gave chances to Kuldeep Yadav and Ishan Kishan to have a look at them ahead of the mega-events. On the other side, West Indies looked to win this game to gain some momentum ahead of the next series. Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bat first.
India won the last T20I by 88 runs against West Indies
While batting first, another new pair of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer came out to bat for India. They managed to score some quick runs as India reached 53 runs for one wicket in six overs. Shreyas Iyer scored 64 runs off 40 balls, including eight boundaries and two sixes. Deepak Hooda also contributed with his 38 runs before India experienced a mini-collapse in the middle order. West Indies bowlers managed to keep India away from the 200-run mark. India put up only 188 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. Meanwhile, Odeon Smith was the star of the bowlers from the West Indies. He picked up three wickets.
In reply, West Indies also surprised everyone as Jason Holder came out to open with Shamarh Brooks. However, the idea did not work so well for them. Holder failed to score a single run as he lost his wicket on the third ball of the first over. Axar Patel was in great form as he picked up three wickets in three overs. Thus, West Indies was struggling at 64 runs by losing four wickets. But, Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav joined the party as they completely derailed West Indies in this chase. In 12.1 overs, West Indies lost their seventh wicket for 89 runs only. Shimron Hetmyer was the lone warrior as he scored 56 runs off 35 balls. Finally, they got bundled out for 100 runs in 15.2 overs. Spin-trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel bamboozled West Indies by bagging all 10 wickets. With this win, India won this series with a scoreline of 4-1.

India win the match and series. Today it was a pathetic display of inability to play spin. All 10 wickets were picked up by spinners today #wivind
