Father’s Day special: Fathers’ contribution behind the success of a cricketer
Fathers are always known for their sacrifices and contribution to their respective families. Without their contribution, it becomes difficult for other family members to be in the right direction. Cricketers are not also an exception as every cricketer dreams of playing for his respective Nation for one day.
It has been found that several fathers have worked really hard for their children to fulfill their dream of becoming a National players one day. Players like Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, Umran Malik, and Prithvi Shaw always shared and showed huge respect for their fathers and their contribution.
Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar always shared his father’s contribution to his success as he became one of the greatest cricketers in the world. Today, he again shared a beautiful message saying that every child’s first hero is their father. He also showed gratitude for how he taught him to love unconditionally and find his own path in life.
Here is the Tweet:
Every child's first Hero is his father. I was no different. Even today, I remember what he taught me, his unconditional love & how he let me find my own path. Happy Father's Day everyone!#FathersDay pic.twitter.com/fgWQPr8jc6

Speaking of his father’s contribution, an interesting incident has been found in a book named ‘Winning Like Sachin: Think & Succeed like Tendulkar’. In 1984, Sachin was only 11 years old, and then, his coach, Ramakant Achrekar said that this boy can go long in the sport. However, the school, in which he was in, had not had any cricket team. Hence, his coach suggested changing his school Shardashram Vidya mandir, whose English-and Marathi-medium cricket teams were coached by him as per the book. The school was quite a fair distance and thus, apart from taking an easy decision, Professor Tendulkar left that decision completely to Sachin. Then, Sachin opted for the love of his cricket and thus, the player’s life got changed completely.
Prithvi Shaw is another player who considers his father as the main guide and friend in his life. This current Indian cricketer shared how his father used to take him to Bandra for practice at 4:30 am. Both of them did not attend a single-family ceremony and his father also sold his garment shop to fully focus on his son’s game. Despite not having any bowling experience, Pankaj Shaw also learned to bowl in the nets. So that his son can face more balls than other batsmen in the nets. This father-son duo lived in a small chawl in the suburbs of Mumbai and survived solely on the meager savings after selling his shop.
Umran Malik is another cricket who gives credit to his father for becoming the cricketer he is today. In an interview, he said: “I always got the support from my family to play cricket. My father is a vegetable vendor in Jammu and he’s worked very hard in our upbringing.” After Umran’s rise in the Indian T20 League, his father, Abdul Rashid said that his son’s extreme pace comes to him naturally and is a result of all the incredible amount of work he has put into his bowling since he was a child. Speaking to News18 Cricketnext, he added: “His bowling action and pace are all-natural. He has not done any special training or additional work on that. It comes naturally. He used to practice with a Cosco tennis ball. And it is what it is. It’s all his hard work that has taken him to the IPL. Na din ko sota tha, na raat ko sota tha. Dhoop ho, chhav ho, isne mehnat Kabhi nahi chhodi (He hardly slept in a day. He never stopped working hard regardless of the conditions).”
