The second edition of the Legends League Cricket is going to happen on 16 September 2022. Four teams will participate this time around. A total of 16 matches will happen across different venues. Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack, and Jodhpur will host the matches. However, venues for the playoffs and finals will be decided after.
On 2 September 2022, the players’ draft took place and four teams selected their preferred players for the new edition. Four teams are the Indian Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Bhilwara Kings, and Manipal Tigers. Now, there are several players who have played together in the previous editions of the Indian T20 League. Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir
Both these players played a vital role for the Kolkata franchise in the Indian T20 League. In 2011, the franchise brought this South African all-rounder to their side. Gautam Gambhir was leading the team at that time. However, they both managed to make Kolkata two-time champions during their time in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
Speaking about their career, Gambhir played for Kolkata until the 2017 edition of the tournament. On the other hand, Kallis retired after the trophy-winning season in 2014.
