Five Indian batters to watch out for in Indian T20 League 2022

The Indian T20 League 2022 mega auction is around the corner and teams are busy strategizing team combinations. A total of 25 players were retained by the pre-existing eight teams and six players have been signed by new teams – Lucknow and Ahmedabad. With a lot of big-ticket players available to go under the hammer, fans might witness a different-looking team in this year’s Indian T20 league. In this listicle, we will discuss the five Indian players to watch out for in the upcoming season.
Shikhar Dhawan
The India ODI opening batter has been one of the consisting batters in the ITL. He has played for Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad and has amassed more than 300 runs every year from 2013 to 2015. Since 2016, he has been crossing the 400-run mark every year. Last year, he was released by the Delhi franchise but they would like to get him back in the squad. The left-hander has amassed 5784 runs in 192 games, averaging 34.84 and a strike rate of 126.64 with two hundreds and 44 fifties. At the age of 36, he is still a force to reckon with as we saw in the three-match ODI series against South Africa.
Shreyas Iyer
The Mumbai-born player has played for Delhi since 2015 and has amassed more than 300 runs every year except for 2016 and 2021. In 2016, he played only six games and in 2021, he played only eight games owing to a shoulder injury. However, the former Delhi skipper excelled with the bat from 2018 to 2020 with more than 400 runs every year. This year, he was released by the franchise. He has a point to prove and would like to score heavily to keep himself in the race for the Indian team in the limited-overs format. The right-hander has amassed 2375 runs in 87 matches, averaging 31.66 with 16 fifties.
