Rohit Sharma had a great tournament as a batter and as a captain. The Indian opener was one of the best players in the tournament. With his batting, the Indian captain entertained the masses by batting in an aggressive template. Rohit was selfless with the bat and helped India to give good starts at the top. With 597 runs in 11 innings in the tournament at a batting average of over 52, at a batting strike rate of 124, Rohit was one of the most exciting players to watch out for in the tournament.

Sharma was already 36 in April earlier this year. In his mid-36, Sharma gave his career-best performance in a tournament. It is undoubtedly the best period of Rohit as a batter. It would not be wrong to say that the star batter is ageing like a fine wine. However, reports suggest that Rohit might have some talks with the Indian cricket board regarding his future in cricket. It points at a potential scenario where there might be a change in captaincy, to get younger players at the fore.
