The 1990’s kids who watched the game in the 2000s might remember that one ball was used for 35 overs. There were instances where the white ball used to reverse swing after it got old and was maintained well by the fielder. Also, hitting the old ball for a boundary wasn’t an easy job.

However, with the introduction of two balls on either of the run-ups have kicked the reverse wing out of the game. Also, bowling with the second new ball created opportunity for the pacers to bring their teams back in the game. Now that both scenarios are non-existent, the fans find the format ‘boring’.
