Sourav Ganguly is known as the one and only player to win four ODI Player of the Match award on the trot in his career. In Sahara Cup, 1997, he picked these awards as India defeated Pakistan 4-1.

His domination in one-day cricket started from the series against Pakistan in Toronto in the Sahara cup. He was the highest scorer of the series with 222 runs and picked up the highest number of wickets (15) also.
