Mahela Jayawardane, the only batter to score centuries in both the Semi-final and Final of a World Cup

Mahela Jayawardane was known for his stylish and technical batting abilities in a star-studded Sri Lankan batting line-up. He holds the record of scoring centuries in both the Semi-final and Final of the 50-over World Cup.

During the 2007 World Cup, he scored a ton (115* off 109 balls) in Semi-finals against New Zealand. While, in the 2011 World Cup Final, he scored an unbeaten knock of 103 runs off 88 balls against India. In his whole career, he played 652 International matches and scored 25957 runs at an average of 39.15 across all the formats.
