Five players who might warm the benches for the majority of Indian T20 League 2022
For the past 14 years, the Indian T20 League has been known to gift Indian and international cricket with some amazing talents. The mega sports event provides a stage for the new talents from the most remote parts of India to showcase their talents.
The Indian T20 League has been the stage from which players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah have made it to the big stage. Recently talents like Subhman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Varun Chakravarthy have also used the platform to showcase themselves. But some players in spite of their talent cannot make it to their team’s final eleven because of the presence of some big stars in the squad already.
Let’s look at five such players who probably will be warming the bench for the majority of the upcoming season of the Indian T20 league.
1. Dewald Brevis: Dewald Brevis was a star of the South African team in the recently concluded U19 World Cup. He scored 506 runs in the tournament at an average of 84.33 and ended up being the highest run-scorer of the tournament. His batting skills caught everybody’s attention and soon the cricketing world started calling him ‘Baby AB’.
This season the Mumbai franchise has purchased him for INR 3 crore. But his chances of being in the final eleven is very slim. The Mumbai batting lineup is graced by the presence of players like Kieron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav and the newly bought Tim David. Also, the option of limited overseas option might lead to Brevis warming the benches for the most part of the season.
