Five Reasons For Football’s Demise In India
Overpopulation
Football as a sport needs a big plain area to play, meanwhile, cricket just needs a small patch of land to make the pitch. Football cannot be played if there is a drainage or pile of dirt or a tree in the middle while these things make cricket even more interesting.
As the population in India continues to grow at a rapid pace, there is a huge shortage of land for these activities. While cricket enjoyers come out with unique solutions to the problem, the game of football does not allow for these ‘jugaad’.
Additionally, the loss of a cricket ball is not as budget-breaking as the loss of a football which again points to the reason for cricket’s acceptance in a poor country like India.
