 Five times when Indian T20 League teams wore special jerseys for noble cause

The Indian T20 League is the most famous tournament in the world. Since its inception in 2008, it has managed to entertain fans not just in India but across the globe.  Over the years, the cash-rich league has seen a lot of ups and downs over the years. The brand value of the league has increased over the years. Given its reach, the tournament has tried to give messages to the world in different ways. Many times, the teams wore special jerseys to raise awareness.

In this listicle, we will discuss the five occasions where teams wore a different team kit for a noble cause.

  1.  Bangalore

The three-time finalist wore a green kit in 2011 as part of the ‘Go-Green’ initiative. Since then, they have been wearing this kit every season. Notably, they wear this kit whenever they play at home.

2. Bangalore

The team features once again in the list. Last year, they wore a blue kit in honor to the health care workers and doctors for their contributions during the peak of COVID19 pandemic.

3. Delhi 

The Delhi team wore a lavender jersey in a game during the 2015 season. They did this to celebrate the Cancer survivor day. Notably, Yuvraj Singh, who battled cancer in 2011, was also part of the squad/

4. Delhi

The 2020 finalists feature once again in the list.. In seasons 2020 and 2021, they wore a rainbow kit against Bangalore and Mumbai respectively. The idea was to send a message of unity and also mark their partnership with JSW Paints

5. Rajasthan

The 2008 winners wore a pink kit in 2018. This was one year before they officially changed their kit from blue to pink. The idea behind wearing the pink kit was to spread awareness against Cancer. The same is done by South Africa team every year.
