Former India cricketer expresses disbelief over Men In Blue’s situation against Bangladesh
When India arrived in Bangladesh for the three-match ODI and two-match Test series, they were expected to win every game. After all, they are a higher-ranked side than the home team. However, in the first ODI on December 4, the Men In Blue faced defeat. Batting first, they were all-out for 186, courtesy, of Shakib Al Hasan’s five-wicket haul and Ebadot Hossain’s four wickets.
In reply, the Green Brigade lost nine wickets for 136 runs but still managed to win the game, thanks to Mehidy Hasan Miraj. Now, the visitors need to win their ongoing second ODI in Mirpur. Meanwhile, ahead of the game, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra ranted about the Men In Blue’s performance. He said that it is unfortunate to see to watch India playing a must-win game against Bangladesh
“Ab ye bhi din aa gaye ki must-win muqabla hai hamara Bangladesh ke saath. Agar aj match hum nahi jeetenge to series gayi. Phir nagin dance ke liye aap taiyyar ho jaiye, celebrations ke liye taiyyar ho jaiye, jo ki aapke dil mein bohut zor se chubhegi. (Now it has come to a point where India will have to play a must-win match against Bangladesh. If we lose this match then the series is gone and be prepared for wild celebrations and nagin dance which will hurt a lot).”
India is dominating the proceedings against Bangladesh
In the ongoing second ODI, the Rohit Sharma-led side is all over their opponents at the time of writing. At this stage, the home side has lost six wickets and scored only 71 runs in 19.4 overs. Washinton Sundar picked two back-to-back wickets in the last over and is on a hat-trick. On the other hand, the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik have picked two and one wickets each.
